William Suran was born in Chicago. He lived there until attending the Kansas City Art Institute at age 18 where he studied painting, drawing and printmaking. Bill returned to Chicago and later moved to Brooklyn where he currently resides. He makes watercolors from photographs that he takes of peonies. In addition to painting and other unnamed professional duties, Suran is a guitar player who focuses on experimental ambient encounters. In addition to his lush solo excursions, Suran’s musical endeavors include playing various guitars for serious audiophile Dante Carfagna on Carfagna’s “Express Rising” albums (on Numero Group).
